DOF Weekly Mission Statement
Here at DOF Weekly, we believe our mission is straightforward: To provide the player base with news and information about the features and people that make the Darkness Once Forsaken server such a special place to be involved in. We will do our best to maintain a weekly publication schedule, barring natural disasters or alien invasion. We believe that with the dedicated development team that is in place at DOF, there will be no shortage of stories to report on.
We want to shine a spotlight on the community. If you have a guild, we would love to sit down with you for an interview and help tell your story to the rest of the players. LIkewise, if you have an event planned, we would be happy to help spread the word. We believe that what has always made Ultima Online a special place is that sense of community that has never quite been replicated in any game since.
As part of our community spotlight, we are also planning on featuring interviews with both players and members of the development team, to find out how they got their start in UO and what keeps drawing them back to it. Civility is best maintained by getting to know the people around you who inhabit the same world as you. In our modern age, it’s easy to forget that behind every virtual character is a real person, with a story more vivid than any fiction. Take the time to learn a little about those around you, make a new friend, and enrich both the community and your own personal life.
If you have a story you’d like to see us cover, please let us know. Comments are turned off on this board, in order to allow us to publish each issue over multiple posts. This enables us to use multiple graphics per story. We welcome all comments about each issue on a thread in the general discussion board. We look forward to serving you, the DOF community, to the best of our ability. If we can deliver the news, with the occasional laugh, (sometimes even intentionally) then we will consider our mission a success.
And as a reminder from us, to you, our server is brand new, and while the features in it are quite fantastic thus far, it is still very much in development. Many features are added every day and sometimes those features require downtimes, or impromptu server restarts, so we ask that you be patient with our fantastic Dev team and don’t rage over this. It is for the improvement of the server, and the addition of fun things for us to have and do.
Sincerely,
DOF Weekly Staff
