Hello there!
Let me start by saying the shard is awesome, I mean it, I've played quite a few and all I can say is: GREAT job, seriously. The amount of work done is impressive and a lot of things are of really good taste. So thank you for all that, I'm having a blast!
After playing one week, I have noted a few things that could need work, please note that I'm pretty new here (not new on UO though) so maybe I'm very wrong about certain things. Let's get started:
Observations:
- Trammel/Ilshenar/Tokuno champs are basically useless, even worse for Ilsh since they spawn paragon monsters: why would anyone bother? They don't drop PS or even a skull. (I did a Lords Oak spawn with paragon angels, it was fun but yeah, the reward just wasn't there hehehe)
- Leads me to Tokuno arties (and other vanilla arties in general): even the starting gear here is better than any Tokuno artie, doing the Sleeping dragon champ is like filling his bag with junk and no reward at the end (still fun though). Maybe we could get something to get ride of these arties for gold or something?
- Champ spawns don't have the correct name displayed in the travel agency which doesn't help knowing where we're going: T2A champs all have a specific name (Marble, Damwin, Tortoise etc.) for example.
- Maybe some champs have a spawn radius a bit too large which leads to monsters stuck behind walls etc. Not sure if it's easily fixed and/or if it's intended.
- The Harrower is useless since stat scrolls can't be used here, I always thought it was exciting to kill every champs (otherwise why bother? Just farm that Baracoon and we're done with the PS part) to spawn something huge to battle etc. The reality is that it's a poor fight with no reward at the end.
- Server is rebooting at 3pm everyday for me, which is cool, why not, but it doesn't warn before (like 10-5-1 minutes countdown or something) so it can be a bit dangerous at times hehehe.
- Quite a few keys are missing a "fill from backpack" option, especially the checkbook. Of course I can make a macro to add every check in it etc., but doing a macro for every single action isn't the most fun hehe
I would love the imbuing chest to add everything from my bag too, but I guess it's more complicated to do.
Also it's missing a keyguard option to prevent some stuff (like bandages) from being added to keys.
- Possible to get a pet key?
- Delay between actions is VERY long here, when you messed up with [grab and end up with 100+ objects to move around you realise how slow it is. Maybe it's needed because it takes too much ressources, otherwise maybe we could get something shorter?
- Can we get a list of the caps here? Is it standard? Like HCI, DCI, DI, etc. Also pet caps? I was told about 100 res bios?
- Ok now a big one: crafting materials. I get the idea that it has to be long to get them, and I love the idea of working for it long enough, don't get me wrong, but some of them are required in HUGE quantities and the only way to get them isn't interesting at all (I won't spoil any locations/names here).
Suggestions:
- For "useless" champ spawns there are quite a few possibilities: let them be (no one will ever do them), give them the normal rewards (still not interesting to do since they are harder), give them different rewards (that's where it could get very interesting). For an Ilsh spawn we could have a chance at getting mats for example (random?).
- Harrower: same suggestions as above, but honestly he's not challenging enough for any good rewards. What would be cool is something epic/hard with great rewards (thinking about crafting mats but could be something else).
(Another idea that came to my mind is paragon champ skulls: same idea as normal champ skulls but paragon champ spawns (or just Ilsh spawns but was thinking or something a bit more epic) and of course they could be used to summon something epic.)
- Crafting mats: problem is the monotony that comes very quickly when trying to get them, it's not challenging at all and you have to do this thousands of times. I suggested champ spawns as another way to get mats but it could be something else, I mean anything to break the monotony is good.
Ok I'll stop (for now ), maybe I'll do another like that hehehe
Thanks for reading!
